Reporting directly to the General Manager the Registered Dietitian will:
Be a Registered Dietitian with at least 1 year of experience in a lead and/or managerial role in a clinical setting be responsible for the nutrition care process, including comprehensive nutrition assessments, appropriate interventions, educations, and interdisciplinary care planning for patients and provide patient counseling in group and 1:1 settings be licensed or eligible for licensure in Hawaii.
Educate patients and family members as well as facility staff in concepts of nutrition and diet modifications and diet consulting with outpatients
Be an active member of the hospital's Quality Reporting Committee, as well as other hospital committees.
Be responsible for leading the staff regularly and with training initiatives monthly, including safety and huddles
Also work with the Chef-Manager to develop patient menus that meet necessary dietary guidelines
Work closely with the Nursing staff and actively participate in hospital meetings
Position Summary
Functions as the in-unit lead Clinical leader for a small - medium account. Manages the daily operations of nutrition services through direct supervision of both non-exempt employees and entry-level exempt professional employees.
Key Duties
Directs daily operations of nutrition programs and ensure customer and client satisfaction levels are met.
· May provide direct nutrition care to population served
· Executes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to other departments; and collects and reports outcomes.
· Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction for nutrition services and promotes nutrition services.
· Manages employees to ensure they meet goals, cost controls deadlines, and collect outcomes.
· Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Company/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel).

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + Meets eligibility requirements for certification as a Registered Dietitian
